clearest waters
swimming in sapphire blue
sea urchins signaling secrets
fish zigging with amnesia
an octopus waits silently
to go unnoticed
the salt of mother earth’s mystery
lifting me to the surface
reassuring me
I belong there too
I hadn’t thought this would be so new
but the ocean was so proud to teach me
everything that floats, flies
and what swims, soars
people belong in the water
because in their hearts they fly
