am I guilty of tall tales
stretched truths
or rose-tinted glasses
if I simply remember
lightning framing moonlit clouds
towering over us
inky waters rushing beneath our speedboat
our chariot in the dark
the ocean’s midnight air
salty wind kissing
our intertwined hair
and intertwined laughter
your cheek against mine
my arms around your waist
all wrapped up
in what we just discovered
we pinched ourselves
amazed we would not wake up
